It’s in the village of St Saturnin-lès-Apt, which is just down the road from most of the famous perched villages of the Luberon, notably Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux, Menerbes, LaCoste and Saignon. Avignon with its Palace of the Popes and summer festival is just 45 minutes away and Apt with its famous Saturday market is just 5 minutes away. Apt also has lots of stores, some nice little restaurants, and a hospital. It was founded in 45 BC on the order of Julius Caesar and, among other things, is famous for its faience or earthenware pottery made from a mixture of different colours of clay.

The house boasts two bedrooms with King beds and their own ensuite bathrooms on the top floor and a large living and eating area downstairs that opens up to the patio and garden. The 150 year old house was completely restored with a traditional ceiling, tiles and two solid marble sinks. The main bedroom is very large with a vintage cast iron bathtub and a great view of the Luberon. The smaller bedroom has a walk-in shower. All bed linens and towels are provided.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, stove as well as lots of cooking pot, pans and other utensils in addition to tableware and cutlery. There is a clothes washer/dryer as well as an iron and ironing board. The house also comes with a TV and has Wifi.

The village has everything you need within walking distance, including a green grocer next door, two bakeries, a butcher shop, a general store, pharmacy, news agent, and four restaurants. If you like to bike or hike, our house is even better as you can literally bike straight out of the gate and some of the best hiking paths in France run right past the village.

Weekly 2024 rates include all linens but not the taxe de séjour (about €35 for a couple or about €52 for four adults): €825 for January – March; €885 for April – May; €950 for June – September; €885 for October to December; €950 for Christmas and New Years. Please note that a supplement for heating is charged during the winter.
